Still Life With Green Pitcher

Imagine looking through a window into this room, which exists only in this picture. The shadows are from a blooming dogwood tree, in a land of peace, love and joy.

Hey, Jolly Ho! (It's A Jolly Good Time!)

Hey, Jolly Ho! (It's A Jolly Good Time!)

I'm a pearl-loving pirate
With an eye-patch. I am dread-
ful. I am hiding in a cave
(Which is back behind the bed),
And I'm trying to catch
A Polly-want-a parrot
With a cracker and a carrot.
It's a jolly good time!
Hey, Jolly ho
Jolly ho-ho
Jolly-o
Hey, Jolly ho
It's a jolly good time!

I'm a brave sea captain
With a frou-frou kind of cap.
My ship is in a storm
That I'm making in my bath.
I'm pretending that I'm lost
Without a proper compass,
So I splash and make a rumpus.
It's a jolly good time!
Hey, Jolly ho
Jolly ho-ho
Jolly-o
Hey, Jolly ho
It's a jolly good time!

I'm a crack-shot cowboy,
And my daddy is the horse.
My cousin's Pocahontas
(She's a natural, of course).
Pocahontas gets bored,
So we settle down to camping--
Then the horse starts stamping!
It's a jolly good time!
Hey, Jolly ho
Jolly ho-ho
Jolly-o
Hey, Jolly ho
It's a jolly good time!

I'm a famous astronauter
In a shiny silver suit
Of aluminum foil
From the kitchen drawer. I shoot
With an eggbeater ray-gun
At a cockroach on the ceiling.
Outer space is so appealing!
It's a jolly good time!
Hey, Jolly ho
Jolly ho-ho
Jolly-o
Hey, Jolly ho
It's a jolly good time!

I am Santa Claus the Second
Reigning over Elfindom.
My coach-and-four is ready
Should an elfin princess come.
We could take some toys
To the children in Zimbabwe
With our jingle-bells-on-bob-sleigh.
It's a jolly good time!
Hey, Jolly ho
Jolly ho-ho
Jolly-o
Hey, Jolly ho
It's a jolly good time!

"The Ministering Angel"

This is #9 in a series of twelve photos I did, not Photoshopped, but shot through a vase of water to simulate motion. The link in the title will take you to the series, which is a little story, if you want to see it.
Have a blessed day!

Garden Room for Winter

Speaking of Spring Fever: maybe I should be nicer and give you another option other than wishing and pining! I was trying to create a surreal, multidimensional "space" with my photos (the hummingbird is a guest) as an imaginary respite from winter woe. & isn't Chihuly great? Armani too!
I love creating imaginary rooms! It is one of my favourite things to do. What would your imaginary room look like? If you've created one, I'd love to see it. I'm listening to Chopin in this room today ;))

Spring Dance

Spring is my favourite time of the year! This painting shows how happy my inner child is when the trees start to blossom and the butterflies are once again flitting about in the sunshine. Do you have Spring fever?

Hand Over the Chocolate

I'm really not sure who likes chocolate more, Jake or his owner. Jake's not allowed to have chocolate though, and I'm not sure he was too happy about having his photo taken either, after being dragged away from the s'mores. Jake is a Weimaraner puppy, believe it or not!
Obviously, this is not a very original idea. There's something comical about these dogs, though. Check out the link on the title above. I made this for a friend, and she thought it was funny. Me too. ;)

Space Piggy

Don't worry! There's a magic bubble around this piggy so he can breathe in outer space. Have any ideas as to where he might be headed? Maybe he will drop in for tea with the elephant. Hope this gives you a giggle, as it does me ;)

Unintelligentsia

The ichthyosaurus ich [sic]
thumb times
mysteriously myth represented (hic)
by well, intent-shunned
people.
The theory of thumb ich [sic]
that thumbthing over-et it.

The thick thesaurus ich [sic]
thumb times
most seriously myth used (hic)
by those attempting to be
pedantic.
The rule of thumb ich [sic]
to never over-edit.

The pterodactyl ich [sic]
thumb times
quite terribly myth placed (hic)
in the Pleistocene
epoch.
What thumb think scientific ich [sic]
practically psychotic.

The poet dactylic ich [sic]
thumb times
deplorably myth construed (hic)
in this plasticine
era.
But what thumb think artistic ich [sic]
truly (sigh) cot tic.
